Biography
Mateja Starbek Zorko completed her medical degree in 2000 at the Medical Faculty, University of Ljubljana. She obtained her Master's degree in Biomedicine in 2006, followed by specialization in Dermatovenereology in 2010. In 2018, she earned her Ph.D. in the field of Biomedicine. Dr. Starbek Zorko is currently the Head of the Children's Department at the Dermatovenereology Clinic of the University Medical Centre Ljubljana and actively participates in the teaching process as an assistant at the Medical Faculty, University of Ljubljana.
As one of Slovenia's leading dermatologists in the fields of pediatric dermatology and psoriasis, she is also a prominent lecturer in the School of Pediatric Dermatology and Atopic Dermatitis, as well as in the school for patients with psoriasis treated with biologic drugs. Dr. Starbek Zorko is a member of several prestigious professional organizations, including the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV), the European Society for Paediatric Dermatology (ESPD), and the Association of Slovenian Dermatovenereologists (ZSD).
Dr. Starbek Zorko's research interests encompass dermatovenereology, pediatric dermatology, and atopic dermatitis, with a focus on advancing treatment approaches and improving patient care in these areas
