Biography
Pablo M. Munarriz graduated summa cum laude from the University of Navarra Medical School in 2009, earning the highest distinction as class valedictorian. He was honored with the Spanish National Prize for Medicine (second place) for the academic year 2008-2009. Following his graduation, he achieved an outstanding second-place ranking in the highly competitive Spanish medical licensing examination ("examen MIR") among over ten thousand candidates. He completed his neurosurgery residency at University Hospital “12 de Octubre” and Complutense University of Madrid, where he was recognized with the Best Oral Contribution Award at the Spanish Society of Neurological Surgeons Annual Meeting in 2013. Upon completing his residency in 2015, he received an honorable mention for the Sanitas Prize, recognizing the best postgraduate medical trainee in Spain.

Pablo pursued advanced training through a Clinical Fellowship in Pediatric Neurosurgery at the prestigious Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) in Toronto, Canada, from 2015 to 2016. He currently serves as a staff neurosurgeon at the Department of Neurosurgery, University Hospital “12 de Octubre” in Madrid, with a primary focus on pediatric neurosurgery. He is also completing his PhD at Complutense University of Madrid. His scholarly work includes more than 35 published research articles, with his key research interests encompassing brain aneurysms, pediatric brain tumors, and craniofacial surgery.
