Pablo M. Munarriz graduated summa cum laude from Medical School University of Navarra, with the highest distinction at the head of the class, in 2009. He subsequently received the Spanish National Prize for Medicine, second prize, 2008-2009. He completed the Spanish medical license examination (“examen MIR”) and achieved a meritorious second place among more than ten thousand medical graduates. Pablo completed the Neurosurgery residency program at University Hospital “12 de Octubre” and the Complutense University of Madrid. During residency training, he was awarded one time the best oral contribution award at the annual meeting of the Spanish Society of Neurological Surgeons (2013). At the end of the residency, he received accessit to the Sanita's Prize (2015) for the best medical postgraduate trainee in Spain. Pablo completed a post-residency Clinical Fellowship in Pediatric Neurosurgery at the prestigious Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) in Toronto, Canada, (2015-2016). He is currently a staff member of the Department of Neurosurgery at the University Hospital “12 de Octubre” in Madrid and his practice is mainly pediatric neurosurgery. He is completing his Ph.D. at the Complutense University of Madrid. He has published more than 35 papers. His research focuses on brain aneurysms, pediatric brain tumors, and craniofacial surgery.
